| Description: Chilliwack & District Seniors’ Resources Society is presenting a community education session on Fire Safety and Emergency Preparedness on November 8th at Evergreen Hall. Please RSVP if you would like to attend this free session. Fire Safety presented by: Peter Kuhr— Public Educator, City of Chilliwack Fire Department. Being fire safe in our homes is so important for all ages. Working smoke detectors and a home escape plan are vital in being able to evacuate your home safely. General fire safety does not just stop there. There are many other things that can be done to keep you and your home fire safe. Personal Preparedness presented by: Chris Wilson– Assistant Chief, City of Chilliwack Fire Department. What would you do if an emergency services person knocked on your door and told you to leave your home within ten minutes? Having a plan in place and a Grab and Go kit are a start. Taking some time now to prepare for an event will minimize the stress and fear that often accompanies an emergency disaster. |
